MAY 6, 2020

Dear Campers,

We continue to follow the restrictions set forth from the Ontario Government's Declaration of Emergency and as such Pike Lake Golf Centre Limited's campground will now remain closed until May 19, as the Emergency Order Act has been extended beyond the May long weekend [SOURCE]. We will continually re-assess  this closure based on the direction from our province's officials.

Direct debit payments for Seasonal Camping Fees will come out on May 15th, 2020, as normally scheduled. If you know you can't make this payment, please contact Michelle at mgreen@pikelake.com by May 11th at the very latest.

We are working on two forms: a Code of Conduct and Campground Waiver which we will email to all campers - these will need to be signed by the Trailer Occupant before we can allow entry into the campground. We can't finish these documents until we get guidance from the Government and Ontario Private Campground Association on the requirements we must meet in order to open. We do not learn of these provincial and federal updates any sooner than you do; please bear with us as we do our best to quickly get the information and then the appropriate documents to you following the announcement we are all eager to hear.

We at Pike Lake are all social distancing as well and hating it - we're looking forward to having everyone back when it's safe to do so!

As things change, we will provide further updates by email and on our webpage. Please forward this information on to others who may not receive this directly through us.

APRIL 25, 2020

Dear Valued Campers and Residents:

We at Pike Lake understand that this is a very stressful and frustrating time that we are all going through and ask that everyone continue to practise social and physical distancing to help do our part to try and control the spread of COVID-19.

As per the government's Declaration of Emergency, the campground and golf course are closed and are not accessible. With this in mind:

  • No one is allowed in walk through the campground.
  • No one is allowed to walk on the golf course.
  • No one is allowed to drive a vehicle or golf cart through the park or golf course.
  • No one is allowed any access to their seasonal trailer or site for any reason (pick up/drop off, site/trailer maintenance).
  • If you are caught in non-compliance by police you are considered to be trespassing and you could face a fine and/or jail time. In the case of a seasonal camper, Pike Lake may also remove your trailer from the property.

As things change we will provide further updates. We suggest that you keep checking our web page going forward for the most up to date information and forward on to others who may not receive this directly through us.

Contact the main office at (519)338-3010 ext. 222 with any questions or concerns and leave a detailed message including how you can be reached as the office is currently closed. You will then be contacted to address your issue at the earliest possible time.

Please stay safe and we look forward to seeing everyone as soon as possible.

APRIL 4, 2020

Dear Campers,

Following the restrictions set forth from the Ontario Government and Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health, Pike Lake Golf Centre Limited will remain closed until April 30, at which time we will re-assess based on the direction from the government and health officials. (This means campground, golf course and all other facilities at Pike Lake are closed.)

This was not our choice to make. The updated list of essential businesses that can remain open in response to COVID-19 was released April 3, 2020 [SOURCE]. Seasonal Campgrounds are not considered an essential service and so we must keep the facility closed to the public. The restrictions are aimed at further reducing contact between people and stopping the spread of COVID-19.

As per your camping contract, please remember the camping season is from May 15 to October 15. Right now, all the buildings on the property including all the officers are closed until April 30 and the entrance has been blocked. If you need to check your trailer or pick something up, you can do so and then leave but note that you will have to park your car and walk in from the main office. We are not allowing anyone to stay at their trailers for an extended period or overnight (Pike Lake will monitor this).

As things change we will provide further updates. We suggest that you keep checking our web page going forward for the most up to date information.

At this time:
1. Practice social and physical distancing by staying home and planning your camping season from the comfort of your couch
2. Campground is closed (We are discouraging you from coming up to your trailers)

MARCH 25, 2020

Dear Campers,

In our previous letter (sent March 23) we shared with you that we are deferring the April 15 camping payment until July 2020. This would mean the April payment would be doubled up with July.

We have had some campers contact us that do not wish to defer the payment and continue with their monthly Direct Deposit. If you do not want to defer your April payment (and have not already contacted us) please email Michelle at info@pikelake.com at your earliest convenience. As it stands right now, unless you contact us, your April 15 payment will be deferred.

As direction and regulations from the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Government of Canada changes regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), we will continue to re-assess our next moves. Our most recent decision is to remain closed.

We really do not know what is going to happen as we navigate this uncharted territory. We continue to monitor the situation as closely as we can and as information comes in, we will provide further updates regarding May payment and going forward. We appreciated everyone's understanding.

MARCH 23, 2020

Dear Campers,

Based on direction from the Public Health Agency of Canada regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) precautions and social distancing measures, Pike Lake Golf Centre Limited has made the difficult, but responsible decision to close the offices until April 6th at which time we will reassess.

To contact us during the closure, please visit our website www.pikelake.com for contact information or email info@pikelake.com

Although this decision has not been easy for us to make, we feel it is the right thing to do based on the direction received. The camping season opens in May, right now we are temporarily closed and the entrance has been blocked. If you need to check your trailer or pick something up you can come in and do it and then leave but note that you will have to park your car and walk in from the main office. We are not allowing anyone to stay at their trailers for an extended period of time or overnight (Pike Lake will monitor this). Again, please check our webpage for the most up to date information.

At this time:
1. Please practice safe social & physical distancing.
2. Campground is closed. (We are discouraging you coming up to your trailers).
